This year again computer science students have the chance to be supported by us within the framework of the "Dortmunder Modell Mittelstands-Stipendium" (DoMo).

Since 2009, DoMo has set itself the goal of supporting young IT professionals and attracting them to Dortmund's SME sector. With this project, the IT Club Dortmund as the organizer is committed to ensuring that contact between students from the FH Dortmund and TU Dortmund is established at an early stage with local companies in need of well-trained IT specialists.

In addition to financial support of 500 euros each for two semesters, the scholarship holders receive direct contact with the companies involved in this project. This increases the chances of an internship, a job as a student assistant or a direct job entry as a graduate. By participating, the companies demonstrate their social commitment, draw attention to themselves and can strengthen their image as potential employers.

This is the third time we have awarded a scholarship. As a participating company, we are very excited about this year's applicants and look forward to getting to know them soon. After a pre-selection by the IT Club, the scholarships will be awarded according to the wishes of the companies and students. Both sides get to know each other in so-called speeddates. Within a few minutes, both students and company representatives get a direct impression of their counterparts and then share their rankings with the IT Club. Based on the evaluations, the club tries to bring together the desired candidates and companies.

We hope that this time, too, we will get to know great scholarship holders this way and win someone to work with.
