Unfortunately, the shortage of skilled workers has long been a daily occurrence in the IT sector. This makes it all the more important for local companies like ingenit to recruit well-trained computer scientists in good time. That's why we decided to award a scholarship to a computer science student within the framework of DoMo for the fourth time this year.

Since 2009, the Dortmunder Modell Mittelstandsstipendium (DoMo) has been in place to establish early contacts between computer science students at the TU and FH Dortmund and local companies in Dortmund. In speed dates, both sides get to know each other personally and are subsequently assigned according to preference. The scholarship holder now receives a grant of 750€ per semester for two semesters at his/her free disposal and the sponsoring company can directly convince the scholarship holder for further cooperation such as an internship or a student job. At best, this turns into a long-term employment relationship, as with our 2019 scholarship holder, who has remained an integral part of the ingenit team even after completing his studies.

We are now pleased this year that we have found another scholarship holder in Omar, who has convinced us very much both by his nature and his professional experience. Since not all applicants received a scholarship, we took the opportunity to establish further contacts with professionals. We hope to successfully welcome these students to our team soon as well.

Based on our experience, we can only recommend participation in DoMo to both students and other companies based in Dortmund. Due to the success of the last years we assume that ingenit will be one of the sponsors again next year. More information about DoMo is available online.
